Predator Tank Dive

Two Oceans Aquarium, Cape Town, South Africa

September 2, 2006

During the cage diving excursions in South Africa, the biologist on board informed me that the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town offered an easy 'photo' dive (no touching) in the Predator Tank there on site. Of course, I was intrigued and called once I got back to Cape Town. In fact, there are also a fish feeding dive in their Kelp Forest display as well as a hard hat 'walking' dive using the old brass helmets.

This was a really relaxing dive. No, really. The sharks were very docile and posed no real threat, though my dive buddy/dive master kept a very close eye on the sharks for me while I was taking pictures and just generally enjoying the dive. Though the water was cold, the 7mm suit I used made it comfortable. We were down about 30 minutes just staying on the bottom and cruising around the tank.
