St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI)
August 8-12, 2005 Selene and I decided to take a good vacation to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, since we hadn't taken a real honeymoon when we were first married. After much research we decided on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands as it did not require a passport and the economy is based on U.S. currency (besides the fact that it is beautiful there!). We stayed a total of 7 days, with 5 of those involving scuba diving of some sort. The fun part is that before deciding on traveling to St. Thomas, neither of us had a scuba certification. (more soon...) We stayed at the Sapphire Beach Condominium Resort, which turned out to be a good choice for our needs. We got the 2 bedroom 'penthouse' to make sure we had lots of room, and at a very reasonable price. One of the perks of getting this good room was that the bar was only about 100 feet from the room. Every Sunday the resort has a big party and many of the local folks make it a point to be there. (more soon...) Pictures coming soon!
